Rollover
Took a trip to the local farm to sight in a .17HMR with son-in-law (Bryce), Trevor and myself. We used one four wheeler to transport the three of us and our rifles to and from the gate to the shooting area. On the way out Bryce is sitting on the front, Trevor driving, I am sitting (facing backwards) on the rear of the 4 wheeler. Trevor could not see the road too well. We went too far to the left and found the embankment. As the 4 wheeler tilted left, Bryce managed to get off the front and stayed upright on the path. I tried to dismount off the rear and lost my balance, rolled down the embankment trying to avoid being squished under the rolling 4 wheeler. Trevor got off the rolling machine, stayed upright while avoiding tripping over me and stopped the machine from rolling on top of me. I got up and Bryce came down and the 3 of us pushed the machine back on to the tires, then Trevor drove it out of the ditch. Tragedy averted. No cuts or broken bodies. Thanks to Trevor for protecting me.

Good Times
It has been awhile since I have been camping with the Boy Scouts, especially in the cold weather! I went with the scouts (11,12,13 yr olds) to Antelope Island Friday night. On the way in we say 2 big bucks and a doe. We arrived in the campground about 6 pm, and there were 2 buffalo's roaming the campground about 50 yards away.

One of the scouts needed to sleep out under the stars without a tent. We told him the buffalo's would lick him during the night.

I enjoyed the evening, making food, eating spaghetti and strawberry shortcake and telling stories around the campfire.
The scouts used a 2 liter bottle of hot water in the sleeping bag to keep them warm.
On Saturday morning, went to the sod farm and shot some clay pigeons. I can still hit 'em! Did a little genealogy after that and latter in the evening. On Sunday, sat down and looked at some old photos and books...fascinating, the history of our family! Went to the range on Saturday afternoon to sight in a few rifles. Looking forward to using the M1 Garand next Saturday, at a match in Logan.
Life is great! Had a wonderful (peaceful) Sunday!

It's Joseph!
It's Huntin' Time!!!
My huntin' buddy!

Melanie, Barb, myself and Mel's friends went Pheasant hunting in Benson, UT the other day...and had a blast!!!
It took Mel some time to adjust to shooting a shotgun. Mel went to a Turkey Shoot the following week and after a slow start, shot 6 clay pigeons in a row! WOW! Now that she has some experience under her belt, she wants to go all the time...any time!

We had the pleasure of being with our friends. From left to right- Craig, Melanie, Susan, Barb, Ernie, Melanie, Colton, Billie.
